Positioning
|
| For some reason the rescaling process moves everything off center. This is why we created the absolute_center_variation point. |
![]() |
| Select it and then click on the MOVE icon and note the location figures. |
![]() |
| Select all the parts again that were resized, then Tools and the Transform Type-In box. Enter in the inverse amounts. You will have to do this for each axis. It is shown here as one image for illustration purposes. |

| Now the project is back to the center it had before resizing. |
![]() |
| We can verify our resizing by again selecting the wing and going to Point sub-object and selecting the outer most point and check it's location. It is 46.5', right where we wanted it. |

| Next we need to position the project so that the front to back center is at 1/4 of the cord. Cord being the distance from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the wing. |
![]() |
| The verticle center will be through the centers of the engines. |

I have used this same method on projects which have already be animated
and painted and it seems to work just fine except that some textures may
need to be remapped. Try it yourself on the sample gMax aircraft such
as the MD83. This concludes this tutorial. Hope you found it of some use. |
